So I don't think he's gonna be too difficult at even level because by that time the player will be way too powerful and experienced as well.
Though I have to try this myself. The highest level I beat him was probably around level Explore Wikis Community Central. Register Don't have an account? At what point in the main quest are you trying to kill Alduin? He is not killable until you are in Sovengard and recruit some help. If you were there you should not be able to fast travel out. There are no stories to explain his mentality, or why he in particular needed to be the World-Eater. It's said that he became insane and that's why he chose to reject his fate, but this seems like such an easy and vague explanation.
Considering he's the main villain, the lack of detail on his past and motivation is glaring. Even those well-versed in the lore will have a hard time trying to explain the insanity that seems to plague his foolhardy mind. During the vision the Dragonborn witnesses as they travel back in time, they'll see the moment when mortals managed to seal Alduin into the stream of time, and specifically sent him into the future.
This is a questionable choice of actions. It's almost as if they decided to simply make him a problem for the mortal races of the future, or hoped that somewhere far away in time someone would come up with a solution. Either way, it's strange that Akatosh didn't at the time figure out a way to choose a Dragonborn to defeat him before he was sent forward in time. Helgen is a small, unassuming town in the southern parts of Skyrim. It's nothing special, aside from the fact that it almost served as the execution ground for Ulfric Stormcloak and the Dragonborn.
Otherwise, however, it's just a tiny sleepy town that shouldn't be worth destroying. Yet for some reason this is the first place that Alduin arrives at.
Maybe he's there to witness the Dragonborn for the first time, but it seems weird that he would put all of his energy into demolishing this small human town while sparing the actual Dragonborn, considering it brings nothing to him.
The moment the player has control over their character, there's an urgency in the air. Fire resist potions can help if you want to challenge him from the front, but best to avoid it altogether.
Use frost magic. If you have training in destruction magic, spells like ice spike and ice storm can do big damage to Alduin since he has a slight weakness to frost. Ice storm can damage your follower, so use it with caution. If you have it, the Marked For Death shout will greatly increase your damage with magic, but timing it between uses of Dragonrend and Clear Skies can be difficult.
Apply poisons to your weapons. Lingering poisons are just as effective against Alduin as any other non-undead creature. These can be crafted or acquired from an alchemy shop in any town. Keep the pressure on. Keep Alduin on the ground with Dragonrend, use health potions when you get low, and before long Alduin should succumb to the damage and retreat.
Method 2. Prepare for the fight. If you are already at Sovngarde there is no turning back, so hopefully you have a healthy supply of health and fire resist potions.
Consider equipping armor that gives fire resist and a weapon that heals on hit like the Ebony Blade or others with the Absorb health enchant if you have any in your inventory. The point of no return is when you have the option to leave for Skuldafn from Whiterun. You cannot bring followers with you to Sovngarde without modding, but you are given help by the NPCs there during the engagement. Even though the NPCs will shoot at Alduin while he flies, he cannot actually be damaged until he is forced to the ground with this shout.
Let an ally take the damage. Each time that Alduin lands, wait just a few moments for an ally to attack him and draw his attention. If you have to choose, tank a tail whip hit rather than a fire breath attack. Ice storm can damage your helpers, so use it with caution. If you have it, the Marked For Death shout will greatly increase your damage with magic, but it is best to use Dragonrend as much as possible to keep Alduin on the ground. Rinse and repeat. Keep Alduin on the ground with Dragonrend, let your allies grab attention so that you can heal when you need.
Eventually, Alduin will run out of steam and be defeated once and for all.. Alduin will level with you, so judge based on your gear, spells, ect. Not Helpful 1 Helpful 6. How do I defeat him with just a blade sword and healing with no enchantments or potions. If you wish to also avoid magic, you'll need to be very careful about avoiding his attacks while letting NPCs tank the damage. Use an amulet of talos to shorten your shout cooldown so you can keep Alduin stunned on the ground. Good luck and keep your patience.
Not Helpful 6 Helpful If you are doing a quest, you need to ground him using Dragonrend and keep him grounded while also attacking him between uses of Dragonrend.
